There are not many things more important to owning a printer/copier than having a solution for printer service.

Why? Because obtaining service for your printer when you desperately need it can be costly and hard to come by.

Believe it or not, printers are not so different from the car you drive every day. They are complex machines, especially at the advanced level, that require proper care and maintenance.

If you use your printer frequently, service issues—especially as your machine ages--- will occur. That’s why it’s crucial to have a solution for service in place before an issue arises.

But before you can do that, you need to understand the costs associated with printer service so you can make an informed decision on which service solution is right for you.

We’ve been a printer/copier company for almost 40 years and have serviced all kinds of machines for different types of workgroups.

So, you’re nearing the end of your lease agreement for your office’s printer/copier and want to know what your options are.

Knowing your end-of-lease options is crucial because consumers who ignore the impending end of their copier lease agreement can open themselves up to automatic lease extensions if they don’t notify their print vendor or provider in a timely fashion.

This means you could be paying for a machine you no longer want for another year, resulting in mass frustration and financial burden to the tune of thousands of dollars.

As a long-time print vendor, we’ve learned how crucial it is to have a plan in place for when you come up on the end of your lease.

Many consumers in the market for new office equipment don’t realize the expense of buying a printer for their workplace.

But once you get into the advanced multifunction (print, copy, scan and fax) and production printer categories, the price can range from $15,000-to-$100,000 and beyond.

Of course, not everybody needs a robust printing solution, but even a basic multifunction office printer can cost you upwards of $1,000.

You might have already found the exact printer you want, but how are you going to pay for it? What are your choices?

Fortunately, you have multiple payment options at your disposal, so you don’t have to incur such a hefty short-term business cost if you don’t have the financial means or desire to do so.

The effect of inflation in every marketplace is easily seen in our daily life as consumers. With the current inflation rate hovering close to 8.5%, it is the highest recorded in over 40 years.

The ripple effects from industry to consumer have been vast, and the printer industry is no different in succumbing to inflationary pressures.

Prices have increased, and with the supply chain crisis still affecting the daily transportation of machines and products, delivery times have stagnated, as well.

It’s a difficult time to be in the market for a printer, but it shouldn’t stop you from attaining the machine you desire.

If you type in “managed print service cost” into your search engine, what do you see?

Well, if you want the short answer, not a lot in terms of definitive numbers around what a managed print service (MPS) costs.

Indeed, the cost of MPS depends on a wide variety of factors, and depending on which managed print provider you choose, the price range can fluctuate dramatically.

As a local print vendor that offers managed print as a service, we understand the complexity that goes into calculating an accurate price range for MPS. That doesn’t mean we’re not going to do it, though.

Just because the volatility is high with managed print prices doesn’t mean you should be left completely clueless when it comes to seeing actual numbers on what it costs to implement MPS in your workplace.

Why Are Printer Space and Electrical Requirements Important?

Submitted by Keith Metzler on

There are many things to consider when purchasing a printer.

Some are obvious, like print volume and cost, and some are more inconspicuous, like space and electrical requirements, which is what we will be covering today.

As a long-time local print vendor, we’ve seen numerous cases of customers that purchased a printer and thought they had everything in order, only to realize on delivery day that the machine they bought doesn’t fit in their office or doesn’t have the correct electrical outlet.

Space and electrical capacity are not issues that affect a lot of customers, but it’s one that can lead to multiple consequences, which makes them an essential factor to examine before purchasing a new machine.
