If you’ve had a problem with your TV or phone that you couldn’t seem to figure out, what did you do?

More than likely, you contacted someone for help, and that “someone” was probably a support agent from the brand of device you have.

Xerox, the printer brand we partner with, has a similar infrastructure in place for remote support called Xerox Support Services, and it’s important that you understand the pros and cons of using it.

While it is useful to resolve minor issues, trying to solve any type of major issues with your printer over the phone can result in frustration and wasted time.

To help you know when Xerox Support Services would be best to use, we’re going to provide you with the pros and cons of the service so you can see if it would be a good service solution for your current problem.

But before we can get to the pros and cons, let’s go over what Xerox Support Services are first:

8 Questions Answered About Impressions Included in a Print Contract

Submitted by Keith Metzler on

If you’ve decided to lease a printer from a vendor and are formulating your contract, you will likely hear some iteration of this question at some point: “Would you like to have impressions included, and if so, how many?”

It’s probable, if you’re like most customers, that you are unfamiliar with what impressions included mean in a contract or lease agreement and how important they are.

This is precisely the reason we want to use our experience as a long-time local print vendor to help you understand what impressions included mean and why it’s critical to include the right amount in your contract.

Because including the wrong number of impressions has financial consequences and could lead to a more stressful situation if an adequate solution is not found.

What Is the CSV Form and How Do I Fill It Out?

Submitted by Karla Metzler on

The hard part is over. You’ve found the right machine, have your order agreement and are ready to sign the Consulting Services and Verification form (CSV).

What is the CSV form and why is it necessary?

Below is a description of what the CSV form is, and a breakdown of each of the six sections included in the document.

What Is the CSV Form?

The CSV form is a one-page document you’ll receive at the time your order is placed that sets expectations and lays out responsibilities for the installation and training on your newly purchased machine.

It’s a document that’s primary purpose is to verify important information that you need to know before the machine is delivered and installed in your workplace.

How To Set Up and Maintain Color Tracking on Your Printer

Submitted by Joel Metzler on

On average, color prints cost between $0.07-$0.30 per print, a seemingly minuscule price that any business could bear.

But what happens when you consistently print in color, and the costs add up faster than you realized?

You’re left with a high printing bill and a puzzled look because you didn’t recognize how much color printing costs could run up your monthly print invoice.

As a print vendor with noted experience finding and dissecting customers’ print problems, we know how common it is for color overages to contribute to higher-than-normal print expenses.

Xerox, the company we partner with, has a standard feature that can be enabled on most of their devices called color tracking which could serve as a remedy for businesses that need to get a hold of their color printing costs.

As a locally managed print vendor that partners with Xerox and sells its products, we know firsthand how printer service issues can impede business operations and halt productive workflow.

Xerox’s Augmented Reality Support is one solution available to you at no additional cost if you’re a current Xerox customer.

How Supply Chain Issues Have Affected Printing Supplies (Delivery Times)

Submitted by Karla Metzler on

As a locally managed print provider, the number one question we’ve been getting lately is something along the lines of: “Why has this product not come in yet?”

The answer lies in the ongoing supply chain crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic that has swept through most sectors of the business world.

The printing industry is no different. It’s not just the printers and copiers themselves that now have abnormally long delivery times, but also supplies, such as toner and ink cartridges, drum units and paper that have been significantly impacted by the effects of the supply chain crisis.

Auto-Toner or Buying My Own- Which is Right for Me?

Submitted by Magye Swenson on

Buying copier/printer toner can be confusing. Most boxes look the same, there are so many different types, and it’s hard to keep track of when you’re running low, leaving you with an empty cartridge in the middle of a workday.

After being in the copier/printer industry for over 35 years, we’ve seen all of the different problems and mistakes that can be made when it comes to buying toner- and we’ve seen the best ways to ensure your organization will have exactly what it needs.

Deciding whether or not to sign a maintenance agreement can be a big decision for some businesses, but having toner automatically shipped straight to your door is oftentimes the biggest deciding factor. We’ve written this article to help you figure out if auto-toner shipments make sense for your printing needs, or if you’d rather just go out and buy your own toner.

Having a copier or printer break or go out of service is always a big hassle. It can put a lot of your office processes on hold, and your organization could be wasting valuable time while it gets fixed.
