Xerox VersaLink C8000 Printer Review: Pros, Cons and Cost

Submitted by Nolan Fowler on

The Xerox VersaLink C8000, a color printer, is one of the biggest print-only machines Xerox has in its catalog.

If you’re needing a color printer to print at a high monthly volume, it could be a good fit for you.

However, without upgrades or other services, the VersaLink C8000 costs almost $3,000, which means you need to know for certain that it is the right machine for you before purchasing.

How do you decide that, though?

As Xerox Platinum Status Partners, we aim to make that decision an educated one for you to make. We are experts in their products and regularly write detailed and honest reviews of Xerox machines.

Our goal is to make the research process as easy and efficient as possible for you so that you can be confident in making the purchasing decision yourself.

@PrintByXerox is an application in the Xerox App Gallery that is free to download and available to users with a compatible Xerox printer.

But how do you use it?

Since printing from your phone has become increasingly common with the advancement of technology, it’s important to know how to do it---especially because it can save you time and is free to do.

As a Xerox Platinum Solutions Partner, we have specific training on their machines, and one of the main features associated with their printers/copiers is apps.

Just like your smartphone, these apps can be downloaded to your device to help you become more efficient in your daily operations.

One of the more popular applications on the Xerox App Gallery is the @PrintByXerox app, which will be the topic of discussion today.

Submitted by Nolan Fowler on

If you’re in the market for a new production printer, like the Xerox PrimeLink B9100, there is a lot that you need to consider.

Factors such as your print volume, the types of prints you need to make and where you’re going to place the machine are crucial to know before deciding whether a production machine is right for you.

Because, as you’ll see in this article, production printers are expensive and should only be purchased if you require what they offer.

If you decide to purchase a production printer and realize that its features are not paying off for you, it can result in the frustrating realization that you paid a lot of money for a machine that you didn’t truly need.

STPT vs. Office Depot: Who Should You Buy a Printer From?

Submitted by Karla Metzler on

What stores come to your mind when thinking about buying a new printer?

A few stores might pop into your mind. But if it’s based on retail sales from last year, then Office Depot was likely the first one you thought of.

According to the National Retail Federation, Office Depot was ranked 75th out of the top 100 (and the first office supplier) in 2021 U.S. retail sales, just behind Petco and just ahead of Victoria’s Secret.

But how does buying a printer from a retail giant like Office Depot compare to buying from a local print vendor that specifically sells printers and printer services?

A printer in an office is about as common as a computer, stapler or folder.

They are one of the foundational elements of any traditional work setting, which means, just like your computer, you need to get the right one in place to ensure optimal efficiency.

The Xerox C310, the printer we will be reviewing today, could be a fit for you if you’re a small-to-medium-sized workgroup that needs a machine that can handle a workload of up to 6,000 pages per month.

But you won’t know for sure until you properly educate yourself on everything you need to know about the machine.

We live and breathe Xerox products here at STPT and have frequented the printer/copier industry for almost 40 years now.

During that time, we’ve learned more than a few things, but perhaps none more important than how critical education is in the buying process.

Printers are seemingly simple devices, and on the surface, the Xerox C235 is a basic all-in-one printer.

But with a price of around $550, it’s a purchase that you need to make sure is worth the investment.

While $550 is not an exuberant sum for most businesses, it’s enough to frustrate you if you purchase it and realize it’s not what you had hoped for.

As a Xerox Platinum Status Partner, we’ve accrued years and years of experience with Xerox machines and can rightfully explain who would and wouldn’t be a candidate for the Xerox C235.

A couple of important caveats before we get started:

  1. As Partners of Xerox, we sell the Xerox C235; but unlike some in our position, we’re going to give it to you straight. This review will be fact-based and free of bias.

How Much Does Printer Service Cost?

There are not many things more important to owning a printer/copier than having a solution for printer service.

Why? Because obtaining service for your printer when you desperately need it can be costly and hard to come by.

Believe it or not, printers are not so different from the car you drive every day. They are complex machines, especially at the advanced level, that require proper care and maintenance.

If you use your printer frequently, service issues—especially as your machine ages--- will occur. That’s why it’s crucial to have a solution for service in place before an issue arises.

But before you can do that, you need to understand the costs associated with printer service so you can make an informed decision on which service solution is right for you.

We’ve been a printer/copier company for almost 40 years and have serviced all kinds of machines for different types of workgroups.
